Overview

This internship opportunity is within the Front Office of the Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT). The role involves assisting in areas such as Data Analytics, Data Strategy, and Outreach and Communications to support the department's initiatives.

Tasks Summary

• Assist in the development of corporate visualization solutions using state-of-the-art tools and artificial intelligence.
• Support the development of data models for scorecard analysis.
• Build interactive dashboards and reports using corporate analytics applications.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results clearly.
• Work with MS Power BI, Tableau, SQL Server, and geo-spatial analysis tools.
• Understand and support the implementation of the Secretary-General's Data Strategy.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule meetings, gather feedback, and keep minutes.
• Support and update data strategy use cases and relevant documentation.
• Coordinate and support data training and seminar activities.
• Support data analytics or data policy.

Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Typically pursuing studies in: International Affairs, Information Policy or Law, Information and Data Strategy, Social Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Economics, Machine Learning, Data Visualization and Analytics, Web Analytics, Graphic Design, Web Design, User Interface Design, Human-computer Interaction, Digital Marketing or a relevant field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: Three-Six months.
