Overview

Provide technical support and advisory services to farmers to increase income from coffee production. Design and deliver training modules on modern agricultural extension systems and conduct field monitoring.

Tasks Summary
  • Deliver ongoing technical guidance to improve coffee productivity and farmer income.
  • Conduct field demonstrations on improved practices.
  • Offer tailored, farm-level advisory support.
  • Prepare technical training modules for FTs and coffee-producing farmers.
  • Develop and distribute farmer-friendly training tools.
  • Provide training of trainers (ToT) for FTs.
  • Identify new project sites and replicate best practices.
  • Support model farmers to start additional income-generating activities.
  • Recruit and train Farmer Trainers.
  • Conduct workshops with government offices to scale up projects.
  • Work with government officials to identify project sites and support activity implementation.
  • Conduct individual performance assessments annually.
  • Organize human resource development training and coaching.
  • Provide practical training and awareness sessions on selected IGAs and basic business skills.
  • Identify viable and market-driven IGA opportunities.
  • Conduct an assessment of existing income-generating activities.
  • Conduct IPM practices and inspections two times a year.
  • Establish and maintain demonstration sites.
  • Monitor the adoption of best practices by trained farmers.
  • Monitor, collect, and analyze data on farmers trained and key performance indicators.
  • Submit reports: Mid-term progress summary and Final report.
  • Maintain liaison with local government bodies.
  • Facilitate local field days or community engagement events.
  • Submit bi-weekly, monthly, and final reports on time.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in agriculture, value chain development and lead farms development models, coffee agronomy practices.
  • Experience working in developing countries.
  • Experience with coordinating and leading groups of experts is an added advantage.
  • Experience working on the TOT sessions on coffee agronomic practices.
Qualification Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree (BA/BSC or other)
  • University degree in Agricultural Economics and Management
  • Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.

Languages Required: Fluency in English and local language required.
