UNHRD Brindisi - Assistant Storekeeper G3 (2 positions)

Overview

Support receipt/dispatch and verification of Non-Food Items (NFI) to maximize quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to support best storage management practices.

Tasks Summary

• Support receipt/dispatch commodities including transshipment against official approved documentation ensuring accuracy in physical count and quality.
• Prepare and verify warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records.
• Support daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks.
• Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of commodities received/dispatched and handled.
• Support implementation of appropriate measures to safeguard non-food commodities.
• Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-utilization and well-organized commodity storage.

Experience Requirements

• Three or more years of experience in warehouse operations or relative business stream.
• Some experience monitoring or supporting various aspects of logistics operations.
• Some experience in supporting warehouse management and inventory management.
• Some knowledge of logistics and shipping services and/or operations.
• Some experience operating forklifts with valid certification.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with other departments such as logistics, customer service, etc.
• Some experience in the humanitarian response (desirable).
• Experience driving safely and responsibly complying with the applicable driving laws (desirable).

Qualification Requirements

• Completion of secondary school education.
• A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
