Overview

The Finance Coordinator manages, coordinates, and processes direct assistance and administrative expenses for the PC (Preferred Communities) program, with a focus on PIR (Program for Initial Resettlement). The role ensures budget execution in line with scope of work and adequate funding before payments.

Tasks Summary
  • Support in managing PC Budget (including PIR) and ensure data is consistent across all IRC reporting modules.
  • Liaise internally with network budget holders to ensure BvA metrics are met monthly.
  • Process client payments from request initiation to disbursement.
  • Ensure due diligence is performed on client payments and that these are carried out within budget constraints.
  • Liaise with external vendors to relay client payment information in a timely manner and ensure timely disbursement.
  • Enhance current tracking tools and develop new ones where needed to effectively manage revenue and costs.
  • Allocate revenue to different cost centers proactively to ensure sufficient funding is available at the time of incurred costs.
  • Manage expenses related to and payments concerning partner organizations subcontracted to perform Program Initial Resettlement.
  • Periodically run the purchase card and travel card report of program staff and follow through to ensure purchases are reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Maintain client payment and administrative BvAs and ensure they are updated on regular basis, and relevant colleagues are informed of any variances in payment trends.
  • Provide metric analysis on client payment trends, including graph analysis.
  • Maintain up-to-date subject matter expertise in PC program (including PIR) requirements. Analyze impact of new requirements on Direct Assistance and Program Administration.
  • Assist Finance Analyst with budget development for PIR, including drafting budget narratives, running periodic budget vs. actual, and preparing ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Serves as back-up to Finance Analyst for PC budget developments, drafting communication and updating internal systems.
  • Other financial ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Finance Analyst
Experience Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in managing budgets and spending in the refugee resettlement field; demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the US resettlement program.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business; advanced degree in a relevant field or CPA/CFA/ACCA a plus.
