Overview
The Senior Programme Associate (MHPSS) is responsible for monitoring MHPSS programme activities and ensuring compliance with IOM's rules and regulations, as well as donor requirements. The role involves coordinating and providing technical supervision to national field staff.
Tasks Summary
- Provide technical support, coordination, and supervision of MHPSS field staff.
- Support the design and implementation of community level sensitization activities on MHPSS.
- Assist in the overall management of MHPSS projects, including administrative and coordination tasks.
- Manage the day-to-day implementation and functioning of MHPSS activities at field level.
- Develop periodic and timely reports, feedback mechanisms, and other materials related to MHPSS services.
- Conduct regular data analysis of participant feedback.
- Participate in the continuous monitoring and evaluation of the program.
- Supervise the implementation of integrated MHPSS group activities.
- Supervise any focused support services.
- Ensure that confidentiality and the right to privacy is maintained.
- Ensure that hardcopy and electronic information systems are maintained.
- Deliver training sessions to MHPSS field staff and staff of other programmes.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience with a High School diploma.
- Experience working with national and international NGOs in implementing cross-border activities, humanitarian assistance, complex settings, or emergency programmes.
- Practical experience in IOM or an intergovernmental field-based organization.
- Experience in administrative and financial management, budget monitoring, and internal control procedures.
- Experience in preparing clear and concise reports, supervising staff, and coordinating administrative activities.
- High level of computer literacy, in particular, experience in computerized accounting systems and software.
- Prior work experience related to the provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the region is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution, preferably Psychology, Counselling, or Social Sciences, or High School diploma.
- Participation in IOM corporate training in MHPSS will be a distinct advantage.
