Risk & Compliance Specialist

Overview

The role aims to strengthen UNICEF's risk assurance and compliance activities in Ethiopia by providing expertise, support, and monitoring related to risk management.

Tasks Summary

• Assist in the annual risk assessment process and monitoring of risk mitigation action plans.
• Assist in reviewing office systems, procedures, and processes for compliance with organizational rules.
• Assist in enforcing and strengthening internal controls and preparing the annual Statement of Internal Control.
• Assist in reviewing internal work processes to ensure clear accountabilities.
• Assist in preparing for internal and external audits and following up on recommendations.
• Assist in reviewing the conformity of statutory and non-statutory committees.
• Assist in collecting evidence for fraud and misconduct investigations.
• Assist in implementing the global anti-fraud strategy and suggesting internal fraud prevention mechanisms.
• Assist in implementing a continuous learning and development plan for the Risk and Compliance function.
• Assist in providing staff with access to relevant training on UNICEF policies.

Experience Requirements

3 years of relevant experience.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Financial Management, Operations Management, Strategic Management, Risk Management, Audit, Investigation, Internal Control, Statistics and Data Analysis or Accounting certifications are considered as assets. Additional relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), etc are considered desirable.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or Amharic is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
