Overview

Support UNICEF's humanitarian and recovery operations in Mozambique by assisting with community-based monitoring and engagement. The role focuses on enhancing program quality and ensuring continuity of essential services for displaced persons, returnees, and host communities.

Tasks Summary
  • Support situational assessments and monitoring.
  • Monitor project/programme activities at community level.
  • Contribute to emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Strengthen local capacities to identify, refer, and respond to child protection cases.
  • Promote community awareness on child rights and protection mechanisms.
  • Support coordination with local government counterparts/NGOs/CBOs.
  • Support facilitation of local-level training and orientation.
  • Support assessment of youth with disrupted education/employment due to conflict.
  • Refer identified youth to employment opportunities.
  • Support planning, coordination, and delivery of child protection programs.
  • Undertake other tasks as requested by Supervisor.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in humanitarian, emergency, or development programmes, preferably in WASH, Health & Nutrition, Child Protection and/or Education.
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of field-level programmes, including activity planning, coordination, monitoring, data collection, assessments, and report preparation.
  • Previous experience working in emergency situations, fragile or conflict-affected contexts is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven experience working directly with communities, local and national authorities, civil society organizations, and implementing partners.
  • Previous experience in emergencies or conflict-affected contexts is an asset.
  • Previous experience in volunteering and/or community engagement, particularly in humanitarian, development, or social programmes.
