Overview
The WPE Prevention Officer will oversee prevention and risk reduction activities, provide technical support to partner organizations, and promote women's issues.
Tasks Summary
- Oversee prevention and risk reduction activities such as safety audits and awareness sessions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to partner organizations.
- Reinforce adherence to GBV guiding principles.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and training to partner organization’s Adolescent Girl Facilitators.
- Facilitate GBV prevention related training.
- Carry out and analyze information from safety audits and community consultations.
- Ensure PSS and life skills activities follow the IRC’s Girl Shine curriculum.
- Identify and refer vulnerable girls to access case management services.
- Design and prepare training aids and IEC materials.
- Design and facilitate awareness and engagement activities for parents, caregivers, and the community.
- Identify program gaps and needs and communicate with Senior WPE Officer.
- Conduct facilitation spot-checks for partner’s facilitators.
- Conduct regular team meetings with partner facilitators/educators and community focal points.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans.
- Compile and develop a monthly activity report.
- Ensure proper documentation for activity related records.
- Ensure all activities relevant financial documents are accurately completed and submitted.
- Identify concerns related to camp/community layout, safety, security, water and sanitation access, and develop strategies for sharing these concerns.
- Support stakeholders in identifying strategies that reduce risks faced by women and girls.
- Coordinate closely with WPE Manager for advocacy issues.
- Attend meetings on behalf of the WPE program.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with IRC policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in NGOs in community mobilization, social work, counseling, or psychosocial programs.
- Experience facilitating training, workshop, or mentoring others.
- Demonstrated working experience in community engagement and behavior change activities.
- Previous work with or within a women’s organization, preferred.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (Social Science, Humanities, Public Health or other related field) or equivalent professional experience.
