Overview

The Landscape Consultant will contribute to strengthening UN-Habitat’s programmatic approach for community-led public space development by providing a methodological framework for a canopy intervention.

Tasks Summary
  • Prepare the comprehensive design of the canopy for the Al Taleeleh intervention, including architectural detailing and structural analysis.
  • Oversee and support the implementation of the canopy works, ensuring compliance with approved designs and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate the formal handover of the completed canopy structure to Greater Zarqa Municipality.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and verify on-ground constraints and opportunities.
  • Develop the structural design and analysis using appropriate software, ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes.
  • Provide material specifications and physical samples for review and approval.
  • Prepare a detailed method statement outlining the installation process.
  • Provide technical supervision and on-site support during the installation.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of public space development, landscape and urban design (and/or related fields) in the local context with direct proven experience is required.
  • Experience in organizing training, events, workshops, conferences is desirable.
  • Understanding of and experience in landscape is desirable.
  • Working experience with international development organizations is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • Master’s degree in architecture, landscape, urban planning, or any related field is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • Competencies with office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Cad, etc.) and Adobe Suite are required.

Languages Required: • Fluency in English and Arabic (both oral and written) is required.
