Overview
The Gender, Nutrition, and Social Inclusion Officer is responsible for the strategic integration, mainstreaming, and monitoring of gender equality, social inclusion, and nutrition-sensitive approaches across project components to promote women’s empowerment, inclusive participation, and improve household nutrition security.
Tasks Summary
- Analyze project documents and activities for GESI and nutrition mainstreaming.
- Apply conceptual models and policy frameworks for GESI and nutrition integration.
- Contribute to GESI and nutrition strategies, action plans, and indicators.
- Design and deliver training programs on GESI and nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
- Facilitate community consultations and focus group discussions.
- Support the implementation of the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) methodology.
- Gather, clean, and aggregate data on GESI and nutrition indicators.
- Perform rudimentary analysis of project data on GESI and nutrition outcomes.
- Contribute to the preparation of regular progress reports on GESI and nutrition.
- Support the development and implementation of project evaluations.
- Identify and document best practices and success stories related to GESI and nutrition.
- Support the implementation of social and environmental safeguards policies.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with GESI and nutrition standards.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in gender mainstreaming, nutrition-sensitive programming, and social inclusion within development projects.
- Experience in community mobilization, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in data analysis, report writing, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Desired: Experience working in South Sudan or other fragile contexts.
- Desired: Experience with IFAD or other international development agencies.
- Desired: Experience working in South Sudan or other conflict-affected contexts.
- Desired: Experience of working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country.
- Desired: Experience in development or humanitarian contexts.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Gender Studies, Nutrition, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Gender Studies, Nutrition, Social Sciences, Development Studies with 0 years of relevant experience.
