Overview
The Extended Term Consultant (ETC) will focus on the private sector component of the Finance, Competitiveness, and Investment (FCI) program in Morocco, with secondary support for financial sector issues.
Tasks Summary
- Help maintain and develop policy dialogue with private sector and government counterparts on private sector development issues.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of lending and non-lending operations.
- Prepare analytical work, policy/technical notes, proposals, and other documents.
- Help organize and facilitate policy consultation or dissemination events.
- Help exchange and communicate with development partners, civil society, and the media.
- Help organize and participate in missions, meetings, workshops, and focus groups.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Solid knowledge of, and demonstrated practical experience in, one or more topic areas covered by the program, particularly trade/investment policy and promotion, business environment and regulation reforms, special economic zones/Industrial parks, entrepreneurship and SME support.
- Intimate understanding of the key challenges and constrains impacting the private sector in Morocco.
- Experience in shaping/influencing policy discussions at the country level on investment climate and competitiveness issues.
- Experience in the design and implementation of major projects, programs and in the production of analytical reports and studies.
- Experience working at sub-national (provincial) level and in specific industries relevant to the FCI program in Morocco.
- Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry would be a definite plus. Other sectors of interest include agribusiness, digital, manufacturing, among others.
Qualification Requirements
Master’s degree in economics, international development, trade, business, public policy, or related discipline.
