Caregiver (Paternity Cover)

Overview

Provide daily care to unaccompanied children (UMC) in an accommodation facility, ensuring their security and well-being within the framework of migrant, asylum seeker, and refugee support in Greece.

Tasks Summary

• Support daily facility operations to create a supportive and protective environment.
• Ensure security of UMC at all times, including tracking exits/returns and visitors.
• Undertake crisis management protocols in emergencies.
• Prevent damage to facility equipment and structures, guiding UMC on their use.
• Oversee general hygiene and living conditions in accommodation rooms.
• Organize UMC's daily routine and structured activities, supporting educational and recreational initiatives.
• Drive and escort UMC to social and/or medical services.
• Support UMC with night-time preparations and be present during night shifts.
• Assist with distribution of basic goods and manage inventory.
• Review food conditions and ensure timely meal service.
• Assist UMC with laundry services and issue schedules.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Experience Requirements

• At least two years of certified work experience on care and protection of Unaccompanied Minors.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Previous experience at an IOM Emergency Accommodation Facility is an asset.
• Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees preferred.
• Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage.

Qualification Requirements

• High school degree/certificate

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in Greek is required (oral and written).

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of English, French or any other language of communication with beneficiaries an advantage.

Contract Duration: Up to 9 months
