Overview
The Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation support to staff, visitors, and project-related activities. This role ensures the proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of assigned vehicles while strictly adhering to organizational policies, traffic regulations, and safety protocols.
Tasks Summary
- Renders driving service to the organization within the parameters of guidelines on transport service and based on approved vehicle requisition.
- Ensures that assigned vehicle is clean and in good running condition before leaving for an approved scheduled trip (check tire, brakes, wipers, lights, fuel, oil and water).
- Responsible for ensuring that assigned vehicle is equipped with required repair kits, tools and spare tires, including medical kits, flashlight and cell phone charger inside the vehicle.
- Exercises due diligence in driving the vehicle at a safe speed to ensure safety of passengers and the vehicle as well.
- Complies with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
- Loads passenger and park vehicle at appropriate loading and parking area respectively to prevent violations, towing, and carnapping incidents.
- Facilitates routine vehicle maintenance, check-up, minor repairs, cleaning and washing of vehicles.
- Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles to immediate supervisor for appropriate actions.
- Maintain a repair and maintenance record of assigned vehicle to be included in the monthly report.
- Refuels the vehicle at the end of the working day which should not be below the half-full mark.
- Ensures availability of the following documents inside the vehicle: a) Updated LTO official receipt and certificate of registration b) Copy of vehicle insurance policy c) Important Information in case of an accident.
- Records travel itinerary per vehicle request served using the applicable form.
- Secures the vehicle assigned fleet card during travel.
- Keep and file all fleet card transaction slips to support payment to fuel supplier.
- Conducts regular inventory of spare repair kits, tools, spare tires, cellular phone charger, including medical kits inside the vehicle.
- Contributes to the orderly filing of transport files (vehicle requests, job order for repairs and maintenance, insurance documents).
Experience Requirements
At least 2 years’ experience in an NGO setting or company in Luzon Island
Qualification Requirements
Must have a valid driving license
