Overview

Provide technical input for CBRN and VBSS training slide decks and deliver and support maritime law enforcement exercises in various countries.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide technical input for CBRN and VBSS training slide decks, covering awareness, identification, prevention, and response strategies.
  • Deliver and support a maritime law enforcement exercise including submission of a report on the exercise to improve the first VBSS training in Indonesia.
  • Deliver and support a maritime law enforcement exercise including submission of a report on the exercise to improve the VBSS training at in Nigeria.
  • Deliver and support a maritime law enforcement exercise including submission of a report on the exercise to improve the VBSS training in Seychelles.
  • Deliver and support the R/N component of maritime law enforcement exercise including submission of a report in Maldives.
  • Deliver and support a maritime law enforcement exercise including submission of a report on the exercise to improve the second VBSS training in Indonesia.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant maritime law enforcement experience is required.
  • Experience of training in an international environment with experience in training maritime law enforcement officers required.
  • Proven experience in use and deployment of CBRN detection equipment is required.
  • A broad understanding of the maritime situation in the Pacific and Atlantic Region is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including demonstrated tact in inter-cultural communication is desirable.
  • Proven experience in dealing with national and regional counterparts from various cultural backgrounds is desirable.
  • Previous work experience with the UN or other International Organizations is desirable.
  • Experience working with international organizations in developing training modules/curriculum is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in the fields of law, criminology, public administration, political science, international relations or related field is required.
  • A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 1 February - 31 August 2026

Work Modality: Home-based with travel to Nigeria, Seychelles, Maldives and Indonesia
