Overview
The Youth Employment counselor will be responsible for outreach, delivery of career counseling and life skills sessions, follow-up with recruited youth, and data entry related to youth applications and directories.
Tasks Summary
- Conduct regular field visits to camps and gatherings;
- Attend universities and educational institutions job fairs;
- Maintain working relationships with UNRWA education institutes;
- Deliver individual capacity assessment to registered job seekers;
- Deliver customized individual career counseling sessions;
- Refer youth to relevant life skills, skills and/or VT courses;
- Deliver intensive employability sessions;
- Delivery of intensive employability TOT to youth peers trainers;
- Follow-up and supervise the delivery of intensive employability sessions;
- Provide advanced individual career counseling sessions;
- Participate in career counseling update and improvements workshops;
- Support in customizing career counseling tools;
- Prepare induction sessions agenda;
- Prepare supporting documents and legal agreements for recruited youth;
- Delivery of life in the workplace session for recruited youth;
- Conduct regular follow-up phone calls with youth;
- Conduct regular spot-check visits to youth’s duty station;
- Follow-up the filling of entrance and exit surveys;
- Review youth’s appraisals and provide feedback;
- Confirm attendance sheets and update youth application on ESC platform;
- Raise request for ATM cards creation and payment processing;
- Registration and update of youth applications on ESC platform;
- Registration of referrals and youth’s work status on ESC platform and OneDrive sheets;
- Registration of recruited youth on ESC platform and OneDrive sheets;
- Regular update of youth applications on ESC platform;
- Contribute to Youth innovation and employment hub monthly report.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in career counseling, career guidance, public employment or similar activities, is required.
Qualification Requirements
A university degree in Psychology, Social work, Human Resources or related discipline.
