Overview
The role involves performing driving duties, routine vehicle maintenance, and generator maintenance for the IOM office in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Tasks Summary
- Perform regular checks of IOM vehicles and report maintenance needs.
- Monitor and assist with minor vehicle maintenance and keep records.
- Inform supervisor on required maintenance and advise on next steps.
- Take vehicles to maintenance workshops and follow up on work.
- Perform driving duties for staff, mail, and goods.
- Ensure vehicles have appropriate equipment and tools as per Zimbabwe Law and MORSS.
- Obey Zimbabwe traffic rules and drive safely.
- Perform generator maintenance and service in the Zimbabwe Office.
- Facilitate vehicle inspections for all IOM vehicles.
- Track and ensure vehicle parts inventory is updated and report to Procurement and Logistics Officer.
- Advise on vehicle allocations to IOM offices.
- Raise Purchase Requests for vehicle needs and repairs.
- Perform any other relevant duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience and 2 years’ experience in maintaining vehicles by working for reputable workshops or vehicle maintenance institute.
- Good computer skills, especially in Ms Office: Word, Outlook and Excel.
Qualification Requirements
- High School Degree/Certificates with minimum 3 years of relevant working experience or Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 1 year of relevant working experience from an accredited institutions.
- Certificate in the field of Vehicle Mechanics will be an added advantage.
- Valid Driving License (A, B, C, E class), PSV License is an added advantage.
- Possession of a Government Driving Test Grade I and II.
