Expedited SVN - Media and Communication Associate, for internal candidates only - 1 position

Overview

The Communication Associate will support the Chief of Mission in developing communication and multimedia materials, managing websites, and enhancing project visibility.

Tasks Summary

• Support the development and implementation of IOM's communication guidelines and strategy.
• Participate in the development of information and promotional materials for external audiences.
• Conduct field visits to draft and produce communications materials.
• Support the development and/or formatting of internal communications materials.
• Support Project Coordinators in capacity building for external partners.
• Monitor, update, and moderate the Mission’s website and social media accounts.
• Collect and analyze metrics for IOM social media and draft reports.
• Support event planning and implementation.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Experience Requirements

• Three years of relevant professional experience with a university degree in Journalism or Communication, development communication, social sciences, or a related field.
• Five years of relevant professional experience with a completed High school degree.
• Proven experience in journalism, media, and public information/communications work, preferably in the development and humanitarian sector.
• Experience in designing publications, developing promotional materials, such as newsletters, reports and infographics, is an advantage.
• Experience in covering public events, creating human interest stories, photo essays and video stories.
• Strong familiarity with using and publishing on social media networks.
• Experience in translating documents and meetings between English, French, and Spanish is an advantage.

Qualification Requirements

• University degree in Journalism or Communication, development communication, social sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
• Completed High school degree from an accredited academic institution.

Languages Required: • Fluent in one of IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
