Overview

The role involves carrying out tasks related to Child Protection Case Management and Gender Based Violence, under the supervision of a Child Protection Officer.

Tasks Summary
  • Establish clear standards, regular monitoring, and oversight mechanisms for child protection case management.
  • Define minimum standards, equip the workforce, and systematically capture and analyze data on service quality.
  • Establish mechanisms for child participation and community engagement.
  • Develop and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and operational guidelines to track case management quality, performance, and outcomes.
  • Enhance the capacity of child protection case management personnel through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Establish or reinforce coordination and referral mechanisms for inter-sectoral and inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Mainstream GBV risk mitigation in UNICEF-led clusters, ensure safe access to services for women and girls, and contribute to HNOs and HRPs with a GBV focus.
  • Engage with UNICEF’s Child Protection team, other sectors, and UN agencies to co-ordinate and monitor GBV risk mitigation, prevention, and response.
  • Monitor GBV intervention effectiveness, report on progress and challenges, and ensure alignment with UNICEF’s operational guides and global standards.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant and proven experience in GBV and child protection case management, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.
  • Experience working in complex emergency settings is an asset.
  • Strong experience in GBV and case management, child protection, or social services.
  • Knowledge of international standards and guidelines for GBV and child protection case management.
Qualification Requirements
  • Master's degree in /or equivalent Advanced degree in social work, psychology, gender studies, child protection, or a related field.
  • A first level University degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a related field with an additional two (2) years of practical and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
