Overview

The Human Resources Intern will provide support to the UNDP Tanzania Human Resources Unit in delivering efficient, compliant, and client-oriented HR services. The role contributes to timely service delivery, improved documentation and audit readiness, enhanced staff experience, and effective implementation of talent management initiatives.

Tasks Summary
  • Support organization of HR-related events, wellbeing initiatives, and activities promoting inclusive and gender-balanced workplace practices.
  • Assist in job postings, interview coordination, preparation of recruitment documentation, and tracking recruitment timelines.
  • Provide administrative support including drafting introduction letters, VISA related letters and other HR related correspondence.
  • Assist in tracking implementation of Mandatory Learning and supporting performance management processes.
  • Update HR databases, compile staffing tables and assist in preparing or updating HR dashboards and management reports.
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction processes, prepare onboarding documentation, track contract timelines, and assist in separation procedures.
  • Assist in digitization of HR files to improve accessibility.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements
Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one year of graduation;
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program. Major in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Sociology or any related field.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Proficiency in English.

Languages Preferred: • Working knowledge of other UN language desirable

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: • Interns may be given a stipend according to the UNDP Internship Policies, if is not financially supported by any institution or programme, such as a university, government, foundation or scholarship programme.
