Overview
The Senior Project Associate will be responsible and accountable for the coordination and implementation of projects in the IOM Latvia office, under the direct supervision of the Head of Office and Resource Manager Officer.
Tasks Summary
- Independently lead and coordinate project implementation.
- Monitor implementation activities and analyze difficulties.
- Research, compile, analyze and present information/data on migration-related developments.
- Monitor budget expenditures and coordinate financial, administrative, and technical aspects.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct capacity building workshops.
- Participate in meetings and maintain liaison with stakeholders.
- Coordinate the preparation of reports and ensure timely submission.
- Identify and document good practices and lessons learned.
- Supervise and provide guidance to reporting staff.
Experience Requirements
- School diploma with seven years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree with three years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning system is an advantage.
- Holder of a valid Driver's license is a distinct advantage.
Qualification Requirements
• School diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution.
