Overview
The position holder provides technical and operational support for the assessment and implementation of education activities under a UNICEF-funded project. The role strengthens inclusive and safe learning environments by collaborating with stakeholders and promoting effective teaching and learning practices.
Tasks Summary
- Support the full project cycle, beginning with needs assessments, response analysis, and planning.
- Ensure quality service delivery and adherence to organizational standards.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, school leaders, woreda education offices, and community structures.
- Contribute to improved enrolment, particularly for girls and vulnerable children.
- Promote effective teaching and learning practices that align with project objectives.
- Understand and implement responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC).
- Ensure concerns are reported and managed per appropriate procedures.
- Ensure staff are inducted on and understand their role in upholding safeguarding and GEI policies.
- Embed Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion in day-to-day work.
- Contribute to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including submitting relevant reporting and data.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience supporting education projects.
- Experience in emergency contexts preferred.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Community Development, Social Sciences, or related field.
