Intern - Meetings Services Support

Overview

This internship provides support to the Multilateral Fund Secretariat with coordination of translation activities, document management, and meeting organization.

Tasks Summary

• Provide support in the coordination of translation activities.
• Assist with providing translators with necessary references, terminology, and documentation.
• Assist in reviewing documents submitted for translation.
• Provide support in the posting of documents on the Secretariat’s website.
• Identify and retrieve documents from network and databases, search and retrieve information from the Internet.
• Identify and supply language versions of acronyms, quotations and background documentation.
• Assist with organizing research materials.
• Respond to translators’ queries.
• Perform informal editing functions.
• Provide support in the organisation and holding of meetings and events.
• Assist with any other tasks, as required.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
• Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. Preferred area of study: Languages, translation studies, information, communications, or related fields.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language, Arabic or Russian, is desirable.

Contract Duration: 3 - 6 months
