Arabic Translator Intern

Overview

The internship is located within the Conference Management Section (CMS) of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The intern will be responsible for translating documents and providing language support.

Tasks Summary

• Translate documents covering a broad range of subjects.
• Conduct necessary research.
• Proofread and review documents in English and Arabic.
• Copy prepare designed outputs and undertake any other language support function.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Experience Requirements

No previous work experience is required.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
• Have graduated with a university degree.
• Computer literate in standard software applications.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English and Arabic is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of French is desirable.

Contract Duration: 2 Months

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
