Overview

Internship opportunity focused on population and social development, involving analysis of trends, policy formulation, and data compilation for Asian and Pacific Member States.

Tasks Summary

• Undertaking literature reviews, analysis and compilation of data from secondary sources on population trends, international migration, population ageing, and youth engagement.
• Assisting in organizing meetings and attending relevant preparations.
• Reviewing working papers and reports for accuracy and clarity, and editing if required.
• Developing audio-visual materials, such as PowerPoint presentations or info charts.
• Analysing data using Excel and other statistical products.
• Creating substantive website content.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent), preferably in fields such as social studies with data studies; demography; international relations; statistics; human rights law.
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage, particularly Chinese or Russian.

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
