Overview

Internship opportunity within the Social Development Division of ECLAC, supporting the team in social development, protection, and cultural policies.

Tasks Summary
  • Research quantitative, qualitative, institutional, and official data on social development and protection policies, programmes, and measures.
  • Draft inputs related to social policy, public/government institutions, culture policies, and social protection documents.
  • Gather and summarize research information on specific topics, including institutional frameworks.
  • Support activities such as organizing seminars and expert meetings, producing briefs and presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and process statistical information.
  • Contribute to updating content of databases and websites of the Social Development Division.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. Previous knowledge of social protection policies, cultural policies or public expenditure is required for this internship.

Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish are required for this internship.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 2-6 months

Work Modality: Santiago

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
