Overview

Assist in the development of visual communications products and social media campaigns for the UN Youth Office, focusing on raising international awareness and promoting youth participation.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in the development of visual communications products such as website blogs and press releases, banners, infographics, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, and other communications materials.
  • Assist with the design, planning and execution of social media campaigns, including monitoring and responding to comments and messages.
  • Assist with creating weekly and monthly editorial calendars for social media content and schedule posts accordingly.
  • Assist with tracking social media engagement and analyzing data to identify high-performing content and opportunities for optimization.
  • Assist with producing videos and photos of UN Youth Office events.
  • Support Office meetings, event planning, outreach, announcements and other communication coordination activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience; however, a field of study that is related to the type of internship is required. Experience on youth engagement or youth related processes is an asset.

Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). Applicants must be a student in the final year of a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. Programme. Good knowledge of social media platforms and scheduling tools, and standard software applications in Microsoft Suite, especially MS Word and MS PowerPoint, is required. Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud is desirable. Knowledge of video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or CapCut is desirable.

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
