Overview

This internship position is located in the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) in Brussels. The role's purpose is to assist with planning, creating, and curating content for UNRIC’s social media channels.

Tasks Summary
  • - Use Trello Boards to assist with planning, creating, and curating content.
  • - Collect and collate multimedia information.
  • - Monitor sources for new content and information.
  • - Assist with editing and subtitling news videos.
  • - Create visuals, quote cards and other materials.
  • - Attend press conferences, meetings and events to gather quotes and take photos and videos.
  • - Assist with drafting posts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • - Research trends and posts from partners and suggest retweets/reposts.
  • - Monitor social media accounts for followers' comments and questions.
  • - Take an active role in the live coverage of events.
  • - Assist in drafting monthly reports reflecting performance of social media accounts.
  • - Carry out other tasks as requested.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements
  • - Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • - OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • - A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Fluency in one or more of the following languages is also desirable: Danish, Dutch, French, Finnish, German, Greek, Icelandic, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish.

Contract Duration: 4 to 6 months maximum

Work Modality: Hybrid, Brussels

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
