Overview

The IT Officer will collaborate with the IT programming team to develop and enhance software infrastructure, design, develop, test, and maintain databases and information systems, and develop tools for generating statistical and analytical reports.

Tasks Summary
  • Collaborate with the IT programming team to develop and enhance the software infrastructure supporting the National Observatory.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain databases and information systems that feed into the Observatory’s platform.
  • Develop and improve tools for generating statistical and analytical reports.
  • Support data integration processes and ensure system efficiency, reliability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing system maintenance and updates.
  • Contribute to improving workflows related to data processing and reporting.
  • Prepare technical documentation related to developed systems and applications.
  • Participate in meetings and coordinate efforts with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the supervisors in line with the objectives of the Observatory.
Experience Requirements
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in programming, software development, or IT systems management.
  • Experience in software development, programming, and database management.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and software development tools relevant to the assignment.
  • Experience in data processing, analysis, and report generation.
  • Ability to work on-site and remotely.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, email, internet, and database systems.
  • Self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Interest in governance, transparency, anti-corruption, and volunteerism.
Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer Programming, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Languages Required:

Languages Preferred: Arabic, Level: Native language, Desirable English, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable

Contract Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)

Work Modality: Onsite

Remuneration: A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of ILS 2692.06 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities, and living expenses. Health, life, and permanent disability insurance are included
