Public Information Intern

Overview

This internship supports the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut by disseminating information about the UN's aims and activities to the public.

Tasks Summary

• Assist in drafting media advisories, press releases, press reviews, talking points, statements, and news stories in English and Arabic.
• Contribute to content creation for UNIC Beirut's website and social media platforms.
• Provide media support for events and campaigns organized by UNIC Beirut.
• Assist in organizing press conferences, meetings, briefings, and other PR events.
• Assist in taking photos and videos for media coverage and archiving.
• Assist in other ad-hoc activities.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
• Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of French is desirable.

Contract Duration: 3 - 6 months maximum

Work Modality: In Person - Full Time, UNIC Beirut. Remote work modalities can be offered on a case-by-case basis.

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
