Marketing - Public Information Intern

Overview

The United Nations Department of Global Communication (DGC) is seeking an intern to assist in communications and advocacy functions for the UN Information Centre (UNIC) in Mexico City, focusing on promoting understanding of UN priorities and work.

Tasks Summary

• - Assist in developing and implementing a communications plan for the UN Mexico Results Report.
• - Contribute to the dissemination and promotion of the SDG Book Club, Mexico Chapter.
• - Support the design and implementation of a plan to promote Information Integrity in Mexico.
• - Assist in monitoring misinformation trends in Mexico.
• - Contribute to inter-agency initiatives aimed at combating misinformation and hate speech.
• - Support the creation and maintenance of a database of communities of practice.
• - Assist in conducting a needs assessment of UNCG capacities.
• - Support the development of communication tools and training materials.
• - Assist in the creation of public information content for various platforms.
• - Perform other related tasks as required.

Experience Requirements

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must be in the field of social sciences, journalism, communications, audiovisual communications, social media management, marketing, advertising, multimedia production or related.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written Spanish is required.

Languages Preferred: Fluency in English is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: In-Person Full-time

Remuneration: The internship is UNPAID. Interns must cover full-time working hours, for 6 months - 35 hours per week. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
