Overview
Performs basic library circulation functions, provides client services, and assists with cataloguing and collection maintenance.
Tasks Summary
- Perform basic library circulation functions, including retrieval, check-out, discharge and recalls of materials.
- Provide client services during assigned shifts in the Library Client Service office.
- Screen phone calls and visitors; responds to moderately complex information requests and inquiries.
- Catalogue incoming library materials, as well as modify existing bibliographic records.
- Participate in production, design and maintenance of library web pages.
- Assist with outreach activities including delivering presentations and preparing promotional materials.
- Perform collection maintenance, including shelving, shelf reading, weeding and re-organizing collections.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports.
- Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
- Perform other work-related duties, as required.
Experience Requirements
A minimum of three years of experience in library work, archives, information network administration or related field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to one for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in cataloguing using an integrated library management system (ILS) is required.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
