Overview
The role involves ensuring proper management of civil construction projects, providing technical supervision, and contract monitoring to ensure compliance with UNHCR engineering standards and accepted construction practices.
Tasks Summary
- Support and review drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Supervise contractor mobilization and site establishment.
- Ensure contractor compliance with contractual obligations and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with project management, contractor, and stakeholders.
- Supervise and verify execution of earthworks, masonry and concrete works, metal and roofing works, finishing works, and doors, windows and metal works.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify quality of materials and workmanship.
- Prepare snag lists and monitor defect rectification.
- Monitor progress against approved work schedule.
- Prepare periodic site progress reports.
- Report technical issues, delays, and risks.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Identify technical and operational risks and recommend corrective measures.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in construction supervision or infrastructure implementation.
- Experience in humanitarian or UN projects is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
