Overview
Oversees day-to-day construction of Shelter and WASH infrastructure, ensuring works are completed according to approved designs, technical standards, timelines, and quality requirements. The role includes supervising labor teams, managing materials, and ensuring safe, efficient, and accountable implementation with active community participation.
Tasks Summary
- Supervising daily Shelter and WASH construction activities in line with approved designs and standards.
- Ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with humanitarian standards and guidelines of UNHCR and EHF.
- Managing labor teams and promoting efficient, inclusive work practices.
- Monitoring and controlling construction materials and site resources.
- Maintaining site records and reporting progress, challenges, and risks.
- Engaging with refugee communities and supporting accountability mechanisms (AAP).
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant construction experience, preferably in humanitarian or refugee settings.
- Proven experience in supervising Shelter and/or WASH infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with humanitarian standards such as Sphere, Shelter Cluster, and WASH Cluster guidelines.
- Previous experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or EHF-funded projects is an asset.
- Practical knowledge of construction techniques for Shelter and WASH.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BoQs.
Qualification Requirements
• Diploma, Certificate, or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.
