Overview

The Programme Policy Officer (Nutrition) will provide support to the Field Office in managing nutrition activities and ensuring the implementation of WFP’s Nutrition strategy. The incumbent will lead and manage the Field Office’s Nutrition Team to ensure effective and efficient management and implementation of WFP programmes, strategies and activities.

Tasks Summary
  • Contribute towards the development of a wide variety of projects, plans and processes.
  • Provide project management support to specific and defined programmes and projects.
  • Develop and coordinate data gathering and monitoring systems.
  • Research and analyse a range of policy and operational issues.
  • Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities.
  • Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government.
  • Guide and supervise more junior staff.
  • Define operational integration pathways.
  • Support the operationalization of the WFP nutrition response strategy.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports on programs and activities.
  • Strengthen collaboration with government technical services and NGOs.
  • Establish a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning system.
  • Provide support for the establishment and capitalization of pilot projects.
Experience Requirements
  • At least one (1) year, or more, postgraduate professional experience in humanitarian, nutrition development, or related field.
  • Relevant field experience in designing and implementing technical programs related to nutrition.
  • Relevant policy and strategy experience in providing input into policy discussion and decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and ensure program integration in multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Has experience in monitoring and evaluation with a background and interest in the analysis of socioeconomic issues and related policy matters.
Qualification Requirements

Advanced University degree in Nutrition, public Health, Agriculture and agronomy Science, Food technology, Social Sciences, global/international health and nutrition, Policy and/or Management, Health sciences, or other health related sciences field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency (level C) in French and Intermediate (level B) in English
