Overview

The Intergovernmental Servicing Assistant will contribute to the preparation and organization of intergovernmental meetings, including the Committee of Permanent Representatives (CPR) and the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA). The role supports communication and correspondence with Member States and UNEP divisions.

Tasks Summary
  • Contribute to the preparation and organization of intergovernmental meetings.
  • Support the drafting of meeting agendas, concept notes, and briefing notes.
  • Update a roadmap of meetings for Governing Bodies.
  • Liaise with meeting presenters for documentation upload.
  • Take meeting notes and produce draft summaries.
  • Support logistical preparations for meetings.
  • Support the improvement of documentation management and meeting organization.
  • Support planning, scheduling, organizing, servicing, and following up on meetings.
  • Communicate with Member States and UNEP divisions.
  • Support the management of the Secretariat of Governing Bodies’ email account.
  • Assist in disseminating information about UNEP programmes and activities.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in:
  • Conference service or management for international experts and high-level political meetings.
  • Drafting of diplomatic correspondence and meeting reports.
  • Website maintenance and management, and application of website tools.
  • Reporting, meeting scheduling, and coordination.
Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Environmental Sciences, and Commerce

Languages Required: English, Level: Fluent, Required

Languages Preferred: French, Level: Working knowledge, Desirable

Contract Duration: 12 months (with the possibility of extension)

Work Modality: Onsite

Remuneration: A UN Volunteer receives a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) per month. The VLA can be computed by applying the Post-Adjustment Multiplier (PAM) to the VLA base rate of US$1,602. UN Volunteers are provided a settling-in-grant (SIG) at the start of the assignment and in the event of a permanent reassignment. UNV provides life, health, permanent disability insurance as well as assignment travel, annual leave, and full integration in the UN security framework. UN Volunteers are paid a Daily Subsistence Allowance at the UN rate for official travels, flight tickets for the final repatriation travel (if applicable).
