Overview

Manages the overall programming and workflow for the Documents Control Unit, ensuring efficient processing of documentation and publications.

Tasks Summary
  • Manages the overall programming in the Documents Control Unit, indicating priorities and deadlines.
  • Screens documentation for compliance with submission standards.
  • Oversees programming of work unit and distributes assignments.
  • Supervises the work of the Documents Assistant (G5).
  • Performs administrative work, including maintenance of daily statistics.
  • Confers and collaborates with other units to maximize resources.
  • Monitors the progress of the production process and makes recommendations.
  • Manages and supervises the Documents Control System (DCPMS).
  • Maintains inventory and responds to requests for past outputs.
  • Assures smooth continuity with respect to consecutive work shifts.
  • Rotates in shifts, as well as weekend on-call duties, as needed.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data and preparation of reports.
  • Assists with visualizations and updating information material.
Experience Requirements

At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in digital publishing technologies, including draft typing, copy editing, proof-reading and typographical layout or related area are required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to eight (8) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in document processing and management is required. Experience within the United Nations System coordinating the production process of documents and publications is desirable. Experience using a document management system, such as gDOC, is desirable. 1 year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
