Overview

The Planning Specialist provides technical and operational support to advance result-based management across the East Asia and Pacific Region. The role strengthens the quality of planning, monitoring, and reporting of programme results by providing technical guidance to country offices and supporting knowledge management for the Regional Management Team.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and quality assurance for the development, review, and reporting of gender-responsive, risk-informed country programmes of cooperation, including Country Programme Documents (CPD), Results and Resources Framework Annual Management Plans (AMP), and Annual Work Plans (AWP).
  • Support and contribute to the coordination, guidance, and quality assurance of Regional Office internal planning, monitoring, and reporting processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to UNICEF country offices for the development of United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks (UNSDCFs) and support inter-agency mechanisms for UN Coherence.
  • Collaborate with relevant divisions, offices, and partners to exchange knowledge and contribute to global and regional learning on programme planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Support the conceptualization of the Singapore Engagement Strategy.
  • Provide support to the Front Office for effective knowledge management of Regional Management Team meetings, including coordination of Briefing Notes and Talking Points.
  • Support the conceptualization and implementation of regional network meetings.
Experience Requirements

At least 8 years of relevant work experience at national and/or international levels, in programme planning, monitoring and results-based management or coordination. Professional knowledge and technical expertise in related planning and programming approaches.

Qualification Requirements

An advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in social sciences, management, development studies or other relevant technical field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of additional UN Language is considered an asset.
