Overview

Provide specialized consultations for patients with kidney-related conditions within primary care settings to enhance the management of NCDs and improve service quality.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized consultation for patients with suspected or confirmed renal conditions.
  • Support early screening and risk stratification for kidney-related complications among NCD patients.
  • Develop individualized management plans and ensure continuity of care.
  • Establish and strengthen referral mechanisms to higher-level facilities.
  • Support capacity strengthening of primary healthcare teams on nephrology screening and management protocols.
  • Contribute to the integration of nephrology services within routine NCD programming.
  • Deliver high-quality clinical services in compliance with Libyan Ministry of Health regulations and internationally recognized nephrology guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, follow-up, and appropriate referral of renal patients.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential patient documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with pharmacies, laboratories, and relevant healthcare providers.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Submit timely activity reports to the Health Manager.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience in nephrology practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in management of NCD-related renal complications.
  • Strong understanding of Libyan health system structures and referral pathways.
  • Ability to work in challenging field conditions and multicultural environments.
  • Previous experience with NGOs or humanitarian health programs is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery with specialization in Nephrology.
  • Valid medical license issued by the Libyan Ministry of Health.

Contract Duration
three months, with a possibility of extending the service contract as per the project timeline/need. Anticipated start date for the GP position will be March 1, 2026, with expected completion/end date May 31. 2026.
Work Modality
primarily based in Alkufra and will provide services exclusively within IRC-supported health facilities and project locations
