Overview

Assists in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including delivering information sessions to migrants in immigration detention facilities.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities;
  • Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics;
  • Draft status reports, emails, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation;
  • Support the organization of meetings, workshops and information and capacity building sessions;
  • Assist the revision and application of questionnaires and interviews to migrants and professionals working within the detention context;
  • Support the collection of information that ensures that the information conveyed on human rights standards is kept up to date;
  • Assist with procurement and administrative issues related to project implementation, including maintenance of files and records;
  • Prepare content on the project for social media;
  • Travel, to implement project activities, if necessary;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • School diploma with three years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree with one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
  • School diploma;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Social Work, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, Psychology or related fields from an accredited academic institution.

Languages Required: Fluency in Portuguese and English is required (oral and written).
