Overview

Provide technical, analytical, and policy support on the environmental dimensions of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and One Health. Support UNEP's engagement in the Quadripartite collaboration and manage UNEP's AMR project portfolio in Europe and Central Asia.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide technical, analytical and policy support on environmental sources, drivers and determinants of AMR and One Health.
  • Contribute to UNEP’s engagement in the Quadripartite collaboration.
  • Support the design, coordination and implementation of AMR-related activities at regional and country levels.
  • Serve as project manager for UNEP’s AMR portfolio in Europe and Central Asia.
  • Act as UNEP’s resource mobilization focal point for the Quadripartite AMR Multi-Partner Trust Fund.
  • Support UNEP’s engagement in global and regional policy processes related to AMR, One Health, pollution and biodiversity–health interlinkages.
Experience Requirements
  • At least three to five years of relevant professional experience in international cooperation, environmental policy, public health, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience working on antimicrobial resistance and/or One Health, with a strong focus on environmental determinants such as pollution, chemicals, waste and wastewater.
  • Proven experience providing technical and policy support in multidisciplinary and multisectoral contexts at global, regional and/or national level.
  • Experience in project or programme management, including coordination with multiple partners, monitoring, reporting, and implementation support.
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including governments, UN agencies, international organizations, and donors.
  • Experience with resource mobilization, donor engagement, or proposal development is desirable.
  • Experience working within the United Nations system, particularly UNEP, and/or in collaboration with interagency mechanisms (e.g. One Health or Quadripartite processes) is an asset.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in international cooperation, public health or closely related fields.
  • Two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in oral and written English is a requirement.

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of another UN language would be an asset.

Contract Duration: 6 months
