Overview

Support the implementation of activities for small and medium enterprises and border regulatory agencies, focusing on developing tools and solutions for improving cross-border trade and capacity building.

Tasks Summary
  • - Undertake research and analysis in customs law and practice, logistics, harmonization of regulatory framework and best practices.
  • Assist in collecting national regulations for review and assessment.
  • Assist in setting up capacity building modules in virtual learning systems.
  • Assist in researching resource materials on customs law and practice.
  • Assist with the roll out of measure specific initiatives such as digitalization of customs decisions.
  • Assist in promoting capacity building and technical offer among beneficiaries.
  • Collaborate in projects aiming at modernizing business ecosystems and improving regulatory frameworks.
  • Assist in research for the development of ITC champions.
Experience Requirements
Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of the first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
  • Have graduated with a university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s equivalent) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. Relevant field of studies e.g. law, business law, customs law, international private and public law, trade law and development, public administration, logistics and related.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in Spanish and English mandatory.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of French is desirable. Working knowledge of other UN language is an asset.

Contract Duration: ASAP - until 31 August 2026

Work Modality: Remote

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
