Overview

This internship opportunity focuses on assisting the Operational Resilience Section (ORS) in generating and communicating data-driven analyses and insights to support decision-making processes. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying AI and automation solutions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy agentic AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, leveraging low-code/no-code approaches.
  • Integrate Copilot Studio solutions with enterprise systems via the Power Platform and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify AI-driven automation opportunities and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Monitor and research emerging trends in Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and enterprise AI/automation to inform solution design and best practices.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy end-to-end automation solutions using the Power Platform (e.g., Robotic Process Automation).
  • Analyze existing business processes to identify automation opportunities and define scalable, fit-for-purpose digital solutions.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); and graduated within one year or, or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent) or have graduated within one year.
  • Field of study must be closely related to: Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Management, Geographic Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Operations Research, Data Visualization or Information Design.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications, including MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
Up to six (6) months
Work Modality
In-Person. This internship is designed to be full-time and in person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate. This internship is designed to be conducted in person but can be adapted to accommodate remote/hybrid arrangements on an exceptional basis.
Remuneration
The internship is UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
