Overview
Provide technical advice and policy support for the implementation of Outcome 2 activities, focusing on enhancing trade expertise and policymaking capacity of government officials and trade experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Outcome 2 activities, including defining scope, adapting activities to local context, producing concept papers, reviewing materials, identifying partners, organizing meetings, presenting content, moderating dialogues, and following up on implementation.
- Provide advisory support and guidance for capacity building, including direct delivery of training and technical advisory activities.
- Track progress of activities, prepare updates, and provide inputs for monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Collect, compile, and analyze data, prepare meeting minutes, and draft activity reports.
- Support planning, scheduling, and organization of training programmes and workshops.
- Contribute to coordination and synergy with activities across all project Outcomes.
- Identify synergies and opportunities with other projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to the coordination of gender mainstreaming activities.
- Ensure coordination and logistical arrangements for Outcome 2 activities, events, and missions.
- Liaise and manage relationships with focal points and stakeholders in Viet Nam.
- Engage in technical consultations with stakeholders to plan, design, implement, and monitor project activities.
- Ensure stakeholder ownership, maintain communication, and convey issues to ITC HQ.
- Stay abreast of developments relevant to the project’s technical focus areas in Viet Nam.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Be available for duty travel within Viet Nam and the region.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in result-based project/programme management, administration or related area is required.
- Experience related to trade policy in Viet Nam.
- Experience in delivering trade related technical assistance is required.
- Experience working with governments, trade-related institutions and/or private sector networks in Viet Nam is required.
- Experience working with UN, SECO, and/or other development agencies is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in International Trade, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related field. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
