Overview

The role is for a Technician (Life Support) responsible for maintaining and inspecting E-3A survival and life support equipment, managing HAZMAT documentation, and ensuring safety and airworthiness compliance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Tracking, maintaining and updating Hazardous Materials Handling (HAZMAT) binder;
  • Repairing, replacing and inspecting E-3A survival/life support equipment and aircrew NBC gear;
  • Conducting survival equipment training for air and ground crews;
  • Ensuring compliance with work safety regulations, technical publications and airworthiness requirements;
  • Providing technical information on assigned equipment and recommending improvements;
  • Assisting the section chief in managing the Section;
  • Producing training materials;
  • Supporting other training courses as directed;
  • Conducting OJT and advising newly assigned personnel;
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of equipment standards and maintenance procedures;
  • Operating computer terminals;
  • Operating motor vehicles;
  • Advising and assisting supervisors on technical matters.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 years of related professional experience;
  • Secondary education and vocational training in survival equipment maintenance or a related field or secondary education and basic training for specific related skills, with 2 years experience;
  • Desirable: Previous NATO assignment; Experience working in an international / military environment; Experience in NATO or other military or government organization working in the field of life support equipment maintenance and aircraft logistics support; Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, environmental regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • Secondary education and vocational training in survival equipment maintenance or a related field or secondary education and basic training for specific related skills;
  • Adequate knowledge of Standard Automatic Data Processing (ADP) is required.

Remuneration
