Overview

The role is responsible for the daily management and monitoring of a project focused on promoting youth participation in peacebuilding in targeted areas of Guinea. The objective is to strengthen social cohesion, inclusive youth participation, and institutional capacities for conflict prevention and peace promotion.

Tasks Summary
  • Ensure overall operational coordination of the project for UNICEF.
  • Plan, organize, and provide technical secretariat for project governance meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, concept notes, presentations, minutes, and follow-up plans.
  • Monitor the implementation of recommendations from governance bodies.
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of UNICEF's interventions, including community communication, dialogue, social cohesion, and gender-sensitive actions.
  • Liaise with implementing partners and conduct field visits.
  • Identify bottlenecks, propose corrective measures, and support implementation acceleration.
  • Maintain close collaboration with partner ministries and local authorities.
  • Support partner Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and U-Reporters in planning, implementation, and reporting.
  • Support the implementation of the project's monitoring and evaluation framework.
  • Coordinate data collection, analysis, and consolidation.
  • Document progress, particularly in social cohesion and youth participation.
  • Coordinate the preparation of narrative and financial project reports.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in development, peace, or governance project management or coordination.
  • Experience working with youth, local communities, or civil society.
  • Experience with the United Nations System or multi-partner projects (an asset).
  • Good knowledge of reporting and inter-actor coordination mechanisms (an asset).
Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, international relations, community development, project management, political science, or a related field.

Contract Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
