Overview

The Universal Postal Union (UPU) is seeking an intern to assist Technical Account Managers (TAMs) in providing information on UPU products and services to designated operators (DOs) of UPU member countries and assisting DOs in implementing UPU software applications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist TAMs in communications with DOs (e-mail, conference calls, on-site meetings, etc.);
  • Provide DOs with technical information on UPU products and services; and
  • Test application programming interfaces (APIs) and functions of applications developed by the UPU as part of implementation projects by DOs.
Qualifications
  • – Bachelor of Science or similar in information technology or related fields – student attached to a university or institution of a similar nature and whose course of study is in progress or about to be completed; or
  • – Bachelor of Science or similar in information technology or related fields – graduate having graduated a maximum of six months prior to the internship start date.
  • – Good knowledge of APIs, web services and Microsoft SQL Server: configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • – Knowledge of the International Postal System (IPS) and Customs Declaration System (CDS) applications developed by the UPU.

Languages Required
Proficiency in English is mandatory (UN level II).
Languages Preferred
French would be an advantage (UN level II).

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
