Overview

Provide technical and operational support for IT network maintenance and upgrade works, including LAN & WLAN installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support installation, configuration, and testing of wireless access points and LAN equipment.
  • Assist in upgrading network infrastructure components.
  • Conduct site surveys and signal strength analysis.
  • Document configurations, device placements, and test results.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, bandwidth bottlenecks, and device configuration errors.
  • Support review and maintenance of firewall rules.
  • Document observed security risks, incidents, and responses.
  • Monitor network performance and contribute to performance reports.
  • Support routine maintenance tasks, including firmware and software updates.
  • Maintain network topology diagrams and device inventories.
  • Assist in reviewing security policies and compliance status.
  • Support evaluation of security considerations for field devices.
  • Provide general ICT support for other projects.
  • Assist with preparation of technical documentation and user guides.
  • Participate in team meetings and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Support asset management and network equipment inventory updates.
Other Details
Languages Required
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
