Overview
Support the preparation, planning, and implementation of WASH programmes/projects to improve the nutritional status of mothers, infants, and children.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft updates for WASH in the situation analysis.
- Research and report on trends in WASH.
- Prepare technical reports and inputs for programme preparation.
- Provide technical and programmatic support for donor proposals.
- Lead and support the management of Terms of Reference (ToRs) for program activities.
- Contribute to the development of WASH-related outcome and output results.
- Provide technical and administrative support throughout programming processes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to collect/analyze/share information on implementation issues.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises.
- Monitor and report on the use of sectoral programme resources.
- Prepare sectoral progress reports.
- Undertake field visits and surveys.
- Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts and partners.
- Draft requisitions for supplies, services, and agreements for emergency WASH preparedness.
- Build and sustain close working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders.
- Draft communication and information materials for WASH programme advocacy.
- Participate in inter-agency meetings on UNDAF planning.
- Research information on potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials.
- Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and documentation of WASH action research and innovation.
- Assist in the preparation of learning/knowledge products.
- Assist in creating and delivering learning opportunities for UNICEF WASH staff.
- Participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two years of professional work experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required.
- Humanitarian experience is desirable.
Qualifications
- An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: civil or sanitary/environmental engineering, public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, or another relevant technical field.
- A first University degree combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
- Additional relevant post‑graduate courses in WASH‑related fields, providing specialized knowledge that complements and strengthens the primary degree, are a strong asset.
