Overview
Support UNFPA South Sudan with emergency activities by assisting in the implementation and monitoring of humanitarian interventions, contributing to needs assessments, and coordinating with partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation and monitoring of humanitarian activities.
- Contribute to needs assessments, situation analyses, and field reporting.
- Assist in coordinating humanitarian program implementation with partners.
- Track progress of emergency interventions and flag bottlenecks.
- Support preparation of donor reports, situation reports, briefs, and updates.
- Contribute to emergency preparedness initiatives.
- Participate in inter-agency coordination forums.
- Monitor field activities and support quality assurance.
- Support supply tracking and coordination for distributions.
- Assist with documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
- Review work plan progress reports and provide recommendations.
- Support integration of cross-cutting priorities.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in humanitarian programming, emergency response, or crisis operations, preferably with UN agencies, NGOs, or international organizations.
- Knowledge of humanitarian coordination mechanisms, standards, and frameworks.
- Experience supporting program implementation, monitoring, and reporting in emergencies or fragile settings.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications and email/internet.
- Familiarity with database management and office technology equipment.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision and tight deadlines.
- Sound security awareness.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in public health, Humanitarian Affairs, Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related field.
