Overview
The Information Systems Assistant will perform office support and administrative functions, assist with software and equipment support, and provide guidance to users on computer applications and office procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform office support and administrative functions.
- Assist in providing software and office equipment support.
- Provide guidance to users on office processes, procedures, and computer applications.
- Respond to moderately complex requests and inquiries by providing basic technical guidance remotely.
- Assist in the local and remote deployment of Windows OS updates and patches.
- Review, record, distribute and/or process mail, support tickets and other documents.
- Perform tasks related to scheduled service requests, including equipment replacement, installation/de-installation, software installation, LAN connection, returns to stock, and site surveys.
- Upgrade users' storage disks to solid-state technology.
- Deploy installed PCs and productivity devices to end users.
- Backup and restore user specific data.
- Answer end user questions about new features of deployed office tools.
- Report issues related to deployment tasks to support teams.
- Support inventory-related and conference tasks.
- May be required to lift, move, mount, or store equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, or up to 80 pieces of equipment on a daily basis.
- May be required to work on shift assignments and occasionally on ad-hoc assignments during evenings, early mornings, holidays, and weekends.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of data and preparation of data presentations and reports.
- Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
- Perform other work-related duties as may be required.
Required Experience
A minimum of 3 years of work experience in administrative and office support functions preferably in a large organization is required. The minimum number of years of relevant experience is reduced to one (1) for candidates who possess a first level university degree or higher. Experience in general office automation software, local area networks, Office 365 and Lotus Notes functionality is required. Work experience in delivering PC/laptop support Tier 1 services is required. Experience within the UN Secretariat, UN Common System or other international organization is desirable.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
